Tháinig an bás go fáilí chugam ar cuairt,
chraith sé lámh liom ‘Bí sásta ’nois tháinig an uair,
tá mé ’do pháirt is go bráth ní scarfaidh mé uait
go bhfágfaidh mé do chnámha ag do chairde sínte san uaigh.’
‘Is mór an t-iontas go dtug tú domh spéis nó gean,
do dhuine mar mise nach bhfuil aige spré le roinn;
gan bhó, gan ghamhain, gan chaora, gan feoil, gan saill,
is gan ní ar bith ar an domhan ach briathra cinn.
‘Óch, a Chonaill, a chléibh, a ghaoil na bhfear a bhí sámh,
ná lig mise síos go síoraí faoi scríb anois leis an bhás,
le gadaí an ghoib chaoil, a bhfuil nimh ar gach ribe dá bharr,
teacht mar a bheadh daol ann a scríobadh croiceann is cnámh.’
Thoisigh an cluiche agus phreab mo chroí gan stad,
bhí mé buartha go ndéanfadh an t-ainspiorad slad,
Tír Íochtar, Tír Uachtar charbh fhios dom cá raibh mo thriall,
bhí na madaí ag tafann is nochtaidh an diabhal a chár.
‘Ó! ’bhfaca sibh an t-iontas mar sheasaigh mé an oíche agus an lá
le rí na gcearrbhach ag imirt ó oíche go lá?
Bhí sé ag cur cluiche go dtáinig an t-aon le clár
himríodh an chuileat is ní raibh na cúig mhéar le fáil.’

Hello Aidan, I purchased your new album in April and have enjoyed playing the download. When the it arrived in the post there was no physical CD inside the case. I have been promised a replacement but have still not received anything. I only need the CD - I have the case. Obviously I can create a CD from the download, but that’s not the point. Hope you can help.
Best wishes, Martin D’Arcy

Absolutely love that deep concertina sound. And the range of expression that Cormac brings out through this instrument, well beyond the intentions of the designers or makers of these instruments. And, feel sorry for his poor bellows and reeds. He has to do a lot of personal repair on them. Cormac's album design and presentation are beautiful works of art as well. See him in concert if you can. You can really feel those bass notes resonate through a hall. balinsky
